If there’s one animal you can’t miss during a visit to the zoo, it’s always the flamingos. In part because you can usually smell their habitat coming up well before you actually see it.
There are actually six species of this bird that love to wade, eat shrimp, and act as inspiration for yard decorations. Although they all featured similar characteristics, including the curved beak, a pinkish hue, and legs that bend in all sorts of directions.
And it’s true — you can spell it flamingos OR flamingoes. It’s so like these birds to give us that choice.
They’re also very social creatures, even for birds. They’ll come together in colonies that will number in the thousands. If you were to spot a group of flamingos hanging out, what would you call them?

The answer is: Flamboyance. Fittingly, a group of flamingos is known as a flamboyance. Not much else is more flamboyant than standing around on one leg.Source
