Rhinos are living tanks that look like they survived from the age of dinosaurs (they didn't). When several of these prehistoric-looking giants roam together across the African savanna, they need a collective noun that captures their impressive presence. What do you call a group of rhinos?

Correct Answer: A crash
(Source)Rhinos are actually pretty nearsighted, so when one of those 5,000-pound machines charges at you, don't be intimidated, they might just want to investigate and say hi (this is not wildlife advice). When you've got several two-ton animals with horns on their faces moving together through the African savanna, "crash" captures what happens when they encounter anything in their path. Wildlife photographers have learned the hard way that when you spot a crash of rhinos heading your direction, you don't stick around to see if they're just being friendly (again, my earlier point was not advice). The collective noun has been used since at least the 1960s, though rhinos have been crashing into things much longer than that.
