What group did Mick Jagger and Keith Richards play in before The Rolling Stones?

I get it, everyone keeps saying this, but it bears repeating: It’s crazy that The Rolling Stones are still out there touring and doing their thing. Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are into their 80s now, and still filling stadiums and banging out hours-long sets.
Their first release was a self-titled debut in 1964, meaning as of 2024 they’ve been putting out music for 60 years. Their most recent was 2023’s Hackney Diamonds. That’s a lot of weird dance moves from Jagger.
I don’t know how anyone could do anything for that long, and the thing is, the dudes were playing in bands before the Stones were even actually a band. Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, really the beating hearts of the Stones (but shoutout and RIP to Charlie Watts) played together in a group before breaking out. What was that band called?

The answer is: The Blues Boys. It’s no secret that The Rolling Stones are fans of the blues, as evidenced in the group Mick Jagger and Keith Richards played together in before the Stones — The Blues Boys. It was one of many groups that intersected on the local music scene before the right mix was found and the Stones officially came together.Source
