What instrument did Hulk Hogan play before becoming a pro wrestler?

Let's get this out there right up front — I was an Ultimate Warrior guy. The lore, the magic, the power... but somewhere in the mix for second place was Hulk Hogan.
Like anyone else, I can appreciate Hulkamania, and I rode the emotional roller coaster of the Hulkster nearly losing, getting power from the crowd, and finishing his opponent with an epic leg drop.
Hell, I even watched live when he turned heel and the NWO was created.
But before any of that, turns out Hulk Hogan was, at some point, not a wrestler. He was just a young dude deciding what to do with his life, and this instrument was a big part of it. What did he play?

Correct Answer: Fretless bass
The answer is: Fretless bass. While Terry Bollea, aka Hulk Hogan, became interested in pro wrestling at a young age, he started with other interests and nearly made those his career instead. In fact, he dropped out of college so he could gig with multiple bands playing the fretless bass, ultimately forming Ruckus in 1976, which gained popularity in the Tampa Bay region.
