What is Duckie's real name in "Pretty in Pink"?

Jon Cryer’s Duckie dances and pines his way through "Pretty in Pink." He lip-syncs to Otis Redding and ad-libs insults about his romantic rival's name. Duckie's own real name is only mentioned once in the entire film. What is Duckie's actual name in "Pretty in Pink"?

Correct Answer: Philip F. Dale
(Source)Duckie's ad-libbed "His name is Blane? That's a major appliance, that's not a name!" insult feels a little rich coming from a guy named Philip F. Dale. It's a funny (but whiny) moment from a character that test audiences did NOT like. The original ending had Andie picking him, but literal boos from the audience forced a new ending. Cryer apparently stayed so in character between takes that even his co-stars found him annoying. Sort of hard to win the girl when no one likes your behavior on or off screen.
