What is MacGyver's first name?

Richard Dean Anderson's MacGyver spent seven seasons solving impossible problems with nothing but a Swiss Army knife, duct tape, and his genius brain. The resourceful secret agent could turn a paper clip into a missile disabler and chocolate bars into acid leak stoppers, but for most of the show's run, viewers had no idea what to call him besides "Mac." What is MacGyver's first name?
▼
Correct Answer: Angus
(Source)The writers had been teasing fans for years, turning MacGyver's refusal to share his first name into one of the show's longest-running jokes. They finally decided to make a big production out of the reveal with a two-part fantasy episode ("Good Knight MacGyver") complete with medieval time travel sequences. In the episode, he meets a 7th-century Scottish ancestor named Angus M'Iver and admits they share the same name. By the series finale, we learn that MacGyver's son got saddled with "Angus" as a middle name and inherited his father's embarrassment about it. You can't really blame either of them for preferring "Mac" to a name that immediately makes people think of either Scottish Highland warriors or premium beef.
