Some music feels so massive that there's no escape.
I don't mean massive like there are a lot of instruments, but like you can't turn on the radio without hearing it for the 7,000th time that day. I don't think I could ever guess which albums have actually sold well because there are so many songs that I've heard so many times that I just assume helped to sell millions upon millions of records.
And in today's musical landscape, the thought of an album selling well, vs. a single getting streamed a bazillion times, is kind of an outdated concept. But back in the day there were some albums that were so incredibly massive, not only would you hear the singles from it on the radio constantly, you owned like three versions of it — and so did everyone you knew.
Which album, across any genre, stands above them all as the best-selling of all time?

Correct Answer: Thriller — Michael Jackson
The answer is: Thriller. While there's some conflicting evidence in terms of album sales of the past in general, no matter which way you count it, Thriller stands above them all. By most estimates, it sold over 70 million copies, despite the fact that it came out after Halloween in November of 1982.Source
