John McClane thought he was just showing up to a Christmas party in 1988, probably hoping to patch things up with his wife and maybe grab some decent holiday food. Instead, he got trapped inside a Los Angeles skyscraper with European terrorists, armed with nothing but his sarcasm. What is the name of the building featured in "Die Hard"?

Correct Answer: Nakatomi Plaza

Nakatomi Plaza's gleaming corporate facade practically costarred alongside Bruce Willis in "Die Hard." Construction on the building (which is actually Fox Plaza in Century City) was still wrapping up in 1987, so those interior shots featuring construction equipment and unfinished floors were as real as it gets. Today, the only scar on the building from the movie is a missing railing on one of the staircases that was broken by the LAPD during filming. But Fox ended up spending thousands of dollars importing Italian marble to replace the fancy lobby marble that got chipped during the explosive finale, which was almost definitely a bargain considering they got one of the most iconic action movies ever made out of the deal.
