What is the name of the serial killer in The Silence of the Lambs?

If you could pinpoint the exact moment when it became acceptable to joke about serial killers who eat people, it was probably when The Silence of the Lambs was released in 1991.
From quipping that you'll eat whatever it is with a nice "side of Chianti" to answering every call with, "Hello, Clarice," this was a seminal film that quickly made its way into the cultural lexicon.
So who were agent Starling and co. after in the movie, anyway?

The answer is: Buffalo Bill. While Hannibal Lecter is probably the most memorable killer in 1991's seminal Silence of the Lambs, the killer they're after is actually Jame Gumb, aka Buffalo Bill.Of course, by the end of the movie, Hannibal is on the loose once again. But that's a problem for a different movie to deal with. And if you don't whisper "it rubs the lotion on its skin" every time you put lotion on, we're not friends anymore.Source
