If you're lonely and want a child, you could try dating, adoption, or apparently just carving one out of a block of pine. Pinocchio's creator first appeared in an 1883 Italian novel, but Disney's 1940 "Pinocchio" turned him into one of its kindest father figures. What is the name of the elderly woodcarver who created Pinocchio?

Correct Answer: Geppetto
(Source)I would think learning some social skills and going out into the world would be easier than building a person from scratch (well, pine), but Geppetto grabbed some wood and got to work. The Tuscan name means "little log" or "stump," so I guess woodcarving was always going to be his solution to every problem.
