Last updated: June 4, 2024

We all remember it — that game cartridge that we bought with our hard-earned allowance, only to let it go at a garage sale a few years later for a few measly dollars. And today it's worth hundreds of dollars.

Well, this game makes that one look like a piece of trash. This old-school game, which was groundbreaking in its time, recently had an unsealed copy sell for upwards of $1.5 million (yes, MILLION).

Which game do you think it was? And if you have a copy ... sell it!

The answer is: Super Mario 64. A sealed copy of Super Mario 64, the revolutionary launch title for the Nintendo 64 console, sold at auction for more than $1.5 million in July of 2021.It set a record for the most expensive auction sale of a video game ever at the time. The previous record holder was a copy of The Legend of Zelda that sold for $870,000.Source
