What type of dragon is Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon?

Before you have kids, your friends that do have them keep telling you about the movies they've watched that were "actually pretty good." Then you watch it, and it's not that good. Not at all.
But then there's the tale of menaces turned pets known as How to Train Your Dragon (2010), which whether you have kids or hate kids is objectively a great movie from start to finish. It's so good, there are many who think it's better than the books the film and TV franchise is based on — and we're not here to argue against that notion.
While nothing else in the series has achieved the greatness of the first movie, the sequels were solid, and the TV shows are actually really good.
The anchors of the entire franchise are of course Hiccup Haddock and his best friend, who happens to be a dragon named Toothless. The residents of Berk have all kinds of fun names for the dragons they've encountered over the years — what type of dragon is Toothless?

The answer is: Night Fury.
