(Source)Even an actress as successful as Doris Day couldn't escape the changing tides of culture. The sexual revolution's march on Hollywood led to a decline in wholesome roles for Day. She declined the part of Mrs. Robinson in 1967's "The Graduate" because she found it inappropriate. Instead starred in "With Six You Get Eggroll," which would become her final movie. Shortly after the film premiered, her husband, Martin Melcher, passed away and it was revealed that he not only mismanaged her money, leaving her in debt, but he also signed her on to a TV show and a series of TV specials. While "The Doris Day Show" was a moderate ratings success, Day was done with Hollywood.
