What was Sonny's first car in "Miami Vice"?

When "Miami Vice" transformed television in 1984, it brought a whole new level of automotive glamour to primetime. Detective James "Sonny" Crockett became synonymous with luxury vehicles and high-speed pursuits through the streets of South Florida. Which slick machine did our favorite undercover detective drive when we first met him?
▼
Correct Answer: Ferrari Daytona Spyder
Detective Sonny Crockett cruised through Miami's neon-lit streets in a black 1972 Ferrari Daytona Spyder during the show's first two seasons. Well, at least it looked like one. The car was really a Corvette sent undercover with some modifications from the production team. Ferrari actually stepped in and demanded the show stop using replicas, and offered two genuine Testarossas.
