What was the Skywalker family name originally going to be in "Star Wars"?

The Skywalker family will always be incredibly important to the Star Wars franchise. In addition to the first nine films, all centering on Skywalkers and those in their immediate orbit, Luke started it all. Go ahead and talk about the rich history of the Jedi — for most of us, Luke Skywalker was and always will be the first Jedi we ever knew. When he lit up his lightsaber for the first time in "A New Hope" (originally just "Star Wars"), we were all in for life.
While George Lucas knew early on he wanted to do a space opera, it took him some time to get to what the first Star Wars ultimately ended up being. That included failing to get the rights to do something with "Flash Gordon" and drafting multiple versions of his script.
While the major concepts were there, a lot of things changed as Lucas revised his script, altered how characters would look, and even finalized their names.
