Saturday mornings were sacred. A bowl of cereal in hand, I'd plant myself in front of the TV, ready for hours of animated mayhem. Pure bliss.
Meanwhile, in the gilded towers of Hollywood, executives scoffed at the mere idea of cartoons competing for cinema's top prize. "Best Picture? For glorified doodles? Pshaw!" they'd sneer.
