Somehow movie high schools never seem to match up with real life — and I'm not just talking about a bunch of 30-year-olds pretending to be 16.
Movie high schools always seem to conveniently have everything a film's character (or plot) might need — a big library perfect for detention, a packed gymnasium for that big basketball game, or maybe a giant open grass area perfect for a carnival.
And to some extent, they even become characters in and of themselves, such as the school where the characters of 1978's Grease live out their "teenage" lives.
Do you remember the name of that school?

The answer is: Rydell High School. Rydell High School — or just Rydell High if you're in the know — is where Sandy and Danny live out their love-torn drama.A conglomeration of real-life Los Angeles area schools was used to create this fictional setting — so no, there isn't a single school that has mid-century charm, pristine football fields, and plenty of room for an entire carnival.Source
