If it weren't for movies, how would we ever know what a cool teacher is like?
Maybe they turn the chair around and sit among the class like they're one of the students. Maybe they don't give in even when a troubled but talented kid tries to push them away. Maybe they teach math while playing guitar.
Or maybe they get kids to stand up on tables and seize the damn day.
If there's one takeaway from 1989's Dead Poets Society, it's that the teacher, played by Robin Williams, is really cool. Sure, you can read into other aspects of the movie, but that's one thing we can all agree on.
While you can probably clearly picture numerous scenes from this classic film, do you remember what Williams' character is named?
