Everyone knows Superman's origin story. Alien baby crashes to Earth, gets found by farmers, grows up to be the world's greatest hero. But wow, we dodged a bullet with where that rocket landed. If some terrible people had found that baby first, we'd all be bowing to our superpowered overlord right now. Instead, Superman learned his morals in a little farming community. What's the name of the town where Superman was raised?

Correct Answer: Smallville
(Source)You can almost picture the conversation between Superman co-creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster:
"We need somewhere small and ville-ish."
"Yea, a small ville."
"Genius!"
"What?"
Okay, it's not the most creative name for the hometown of DC's Man of Steel, but it does paint the picture and get right to the point! Smallville was introduced in 1945, but its location shifted around over the years. That stopped after 1978's "Superman" locked the rural town to Kansas, and DC hasn't messed with it since. The WB/CW show "Smallville" is probably how most people who got this question right knew the answer because it brought Superman's small-town upbringing to millions of Americans every week for 10 seasons. Which reminds me, I need to thank the Kents for raising Kal-El to help old ladies cross the street and never lie to his mother instead of creating a dictator that used his superpower however he wanted.Share This Trivia
