Where did Weird Al record "My Bologna"?

It’s difficult to imagine a world without Weird Al in it. But alas, there was a time when he wasn’t the most-famous parody musician in the world.
We owe a huge debt to Dr. Demento for helping to bring Weird Al’s music to the world. After recording his debut single, a parody of The Knack’s hit “My Sharona”, Al sent the tape to Dr. Demento who started playing it on his show.
Eventually, this led to Capitol Records releasing “My Bologna” as a single, and the rest is history.
But where did Mr. Yankovic record this auspicious single?

Correct Answer: In a bathroom
The answer is: In a bathroom. Weird Al recorded his parody of The Knack’s “My Sharona” while working at his university’s radio station. Using an extension cord, he took the studio microphone to a bathroom for the acoustics. Capitol Records released “My Bologna” as a single on Christmas Day of ‘79. The song is also on Weird Al’s debut album from 1983. Source
