These days you hear a lot about Apple — and rightfully so — but let’s step back and acknowledge how successful Microsoft has been as a company.
When the Windows operating system took off in the ‘90s, Microsoft accounted for 90% of the OS market share on personal computers. They still boast over 70% market share. And they’ve never stopped moving forward. Setting Clippy aside for a moment, they changed the game with work-related software with Microsoft Word and the ensuing suite of office products. And after helping to initiate the personal computing revolution, they’ve jumped into video games, artificial intelligence, and more.
As of March 2024, Microsoft’s annual revenue was $236.584 billion.

Correct Answer: Albuquerque, NM
The answer is: Albuquerque, NM. Silicon Desert? While Silicon Valley and Mountain View take all the credit for the computer boom, Microsoft was founded in Albuquerque, New Mexico by Paul Allen and Bill Gates in 1975. In 1979 the company moved to a new headquarters in Bellevue, Washington, just across the lake from Seattle, not far from where the HQ still resides today in Redmond.Source
