Which 1994 sports broadcast was interrupted by the O.J. Simpson chase?

It’s kind of mind-blowing to think about just how big the events surrounding O.J. Simpson in the mid-1990s were. We tuned in to watch the trial in class, if that tells you anything.
In a largely pre-internet era, and certainly pre-social media, the possibility of being able to immediately cover events in real-time all across the world was still new. And our obsession with celebrities and true crime collided in a big way with the new media landscape when O.J. The answer is: The NBA Finals. The New York Knicks and Houston Rockets were tied in the NBA Finals with two games a piece, and were in the middle of Game 5 when the unprecedented media event of O.J. Simpson slowly fleeing police went viral. In some places, they cut away completely, while most NBC affiliates used a split-screen format, with the game taking up a smaller portion of the screen with the commentary muted in favor of live coverage from Tom Brokaw.
