Mickey Mantle's 1952 Topps card sold for a ridiculous $12.6 million in 2022, making every other baseball card look like pocket change. While the card is often called Mantle's rookie card, that designation actually belongs to his 1951 Bowman card. Thousands of these cards were originally dumped into the Atlantic Ocean because Topps couldn't sell them at a penny each, now a single one is worth a minor league team.
