Eve Plumb had just played a teenage runaway who turns to prostitution on NBC, and sequined jumpsuits weren't the next move. She did offer to appear as Jan in five episodes, but walked when ABC wanted more. Geri Reischl beat 1,500 hopefuls (including Paris Hilton's mom) and arrived on set having never seen the original sitcom. I'm not going to say that was a bad omen, but it only made it to episode nine.
