Which NFL coach holds the record for most regular season wins?

There are days when it seems only the best of the best can make it up to the ranks of head coach in the National Football League, and then there are days when I wonder why some teams don't just pay me much less to do the same terrible job.
But then there are the legends who transcend all others around them, looking down as they're carried upon the shoulders of those they coach in a Gatorade-soaked polo shirt. Sometimes, they even wear a mighty visor.
With only 32 jobs available at any given time in the NFL, there aren't a ton of head coaches who've made it that far in general — and even fewer who have seen long-term, perennial success. But this coach stands above all others with the most wins in regular season NFL history. Who is it?

Correct Answer: Don Shula
The answer is: Don Shula. At least for now, all-time NFL legend Don Shula still holds the record for most regular season wins as coach of the Baltimore Colts and Miami Dolphins. And he did so when many of those seasons were just 12 games, compared to the 17-game seasons of today. Those wins also include the only perfect season in NFL history with the 1972 Dolphins.Source
