Who created the medical drama "ER"?

The "ER" script sat in a drawer for 20 years before NBC finally put it on the air in 1994. The premiere was watched by 23.8 million people. Fifteen seasons and 124 Emmy nominations later, it was worth the 20-year wait. Who created the medical drama "ER"?

Correct Answer: Michael Crichton
(Source)Steven Spielberg wanted to make a movie about an emergency room, and so he called up his longtime friend, Michael Crichton. They started discussing an adaptation in 1989 based on that dusty, old script. Unfortunately for "ER," but fortunately for literally the entire rest of the world, Spielberg became distracted by dinosaurs (it's understandable) and the duo's focus switched to "Jurassic Park." A few years later, "ER," uh, found a way onto TV.
