Before there were the Kardashians, there was Gone With the Wind. The 1939 epic drama was essentially a reality show wrapped up in Civil War-era rich people having parties.
And Scarlet O’Hara seems to have no problem being front and center in all the drama. She’s a driving force of the film, and casting her was notoriously difficult — it’s said that over 1,400 women were interviewed for the part.

The answer is: Vivien Leigh. Vivien Leigh rose to prominence as one of the great actresses of early cinema. Not only did she bag an Oscar for her portrayal of Scarlett O-Hara in Gone With the Wind, she figured she’d nab another in 1951 for playing Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire. She was well known for being married to Laurence Olivier, but sadly her stunning acting career was cut short when Leigh passed away at the age of 53 due to chronic tuberculosis.Source
