For the movie itself, Stephen Schwartz brought in Judy Kuhn for Pocahontas' parts after working with her on Broadway's "Rags." Irene Bedard handled the spoken dialogue. As for John Smith, Mel Gibson wanted all the credit and sang his own parts.
