Who was the drummer for the Beatles before Ringo Starr?

Who could forget the four members of the Beatles? You have John, George, and the two other guys. Aside from Jerry, George, Elaine, and Kramer, they’re probably the most iconic four-person group in history. Even decades after John and George passed away we got a “new” song from the group as recently as 2024.
I personally enjoyed the Beatles more as actors than musicians. Yellow Submarine was probably not something I should have watched when I was seven, but I loved it all the same. If only we got that version of Lord of the Rings they wanted to make.
No offense to Ringo, but he was just kind of there for the ride. Yet he wasn’t the first drummer in the group. Do you know who the unluckiest drummer in history is?

Correct Answer: Pete Best
The answer is: Pete Best. Can you imagine anything worse than being kicked out of the Beatles just before they became the biggest thing in music history? That’s what happened to Pete Best when the other members kicked him out essentially for partying too much and being unreliable. But it wasn’t all bad — while Best initially fell into a depression and quit music, he later came back and started touring with The Pete Best Band. Oh yeah, and he got a cut of some royalties, which is still way more money than I’ll ever see in my lifetime.Source
