Correct Answer: Whitney Houston
(Source)Saying no to a Michael Jackson duet isn't the kind of decision you make when you want to find chart success. Unless you happen to be Whitney Houston, and then you get to just make up whatever rules you want. After the success of her self-titled debut album, Houston was ready to make history all on her own with "Whitney." The album debuted at No. 1, ending the 42-year drought, held the spot for 11 weeks, and spawned four chart-topping singles. Combined with three earlier No. 1s from her previous album, the run broke The Beatles' and the Bee Gees' record for consecutive singles to top the Billboard Hot 100. After all of that success, I'd wanna dance with somebody too.
