Who was the original host of "Card Sharks"?

Before he ever flipped an oversized playing card on a daytime soundstage, the original "Card Sharks" host had spent three years on a Vegas stage. Somehow, that wasn't even the strangest line on his pre-NBC résumé. Who was the original host of "Card Sharks"?
▼
Correct Answer: Jim Perry
(Source)Bob Eubanks, Pat Bullard, and Joel McHale all took turns hosting "Card Sharks," but none had been Sid Caesar's Vegas straight man, played basketball at UPenn, or sung for the troops in Korea. Jim Perry had done all of that before NBC put him behind the podium in 1978. If you weren't already impressed (and you should be), he even kept hosting Canada's longest-running game show, "Definition," while on American TVs. Asking "higher or lower" was one of his easier jobs.
