Who wrote the Heathcliff theme song?

Last updated: January 18, 2024

For a good part of my adult life, I only remembered one orange cartoon cat (and friends) from the '80s, and without naming names it was the one that reallllly likes lasagna.

But one day I heard a certain theme song, and suddenly it all came flooding back. The pranks, the love of fish, the Catillac Cats — how could I have forgotten Heathcliff?

Years before that other cat was on TV, Heathcliff was terrifying the neighborhood starting back in 1984. It's thanks to one of the catchiest TV theme songs ever written that those memories came flooding back.

Who wrote the Heathcliff theme song?

The answer is: Shuki Levy and Haim Saban. The name Saban might be the more well-known (at least in nerd culture) but Shuki Levy was also critical in some of the most iconic theme songs every child of the ‘80s and ‘90s still holds in their hearts. Heathcliff is really only the tip of the iceberg for this duo’s musical talents, with heavyweights like The Real Ghostbusters, Inspector Gadget, He-Man, and perhaps most importantly Power Rangers all rocking out way harder than they had any right to.Source
