What was Marvel Comics originally called?

Marvel has had quite the whirlwind history. It burst onto the scene and helped to usher in the Silver Age of comics with a litany of iconic characters, almost went bankrupt, and re-emerged as one of the most successful franchises in film history.

Of course, pretty much everyone at Marvel has Stan Lee to thank, who revolutionized the industry by targeting adult audiences instead of just kids. The synergy between him and Jack Kirby may never be reproduced. 

But, we still have everything they produced that’s still inspiring new work, as well as the ability to look back and honor Marvel’s history. But when this iconic company first hit the scene, it was actually called something else. What was Marvel Comics originally known as?
