What was the Beatles' original band name before they became famous?

Since they became famous at such a young age, it’s hard to imagine a time before the members of the Beatles were known around the world. But by the time they burst into fame, they were already seasoned gigging musicians.
John Lennon was just 16 years old when he started his first band. Not long after, 15-year-old Paul McCartney saw Lennon’s band playing a church function, and impressed, introduced himself. Soon enough, McCartney was invited to join the band, and he recruited his friend George Harrison to join.
While it would be some time before Ringo came in to finalize the dream lineup, the trio played together under the band name Lennon had originally come up with. What were they called?

Correct Answer: The Quarrymen
The answer is: The Quarrymen. Lennon’s first band was the Quarrymen, a name he, Paul, and George gigged under for a couple of years before becoming Johnny and the Moondogs. It wasn’t until they were already in the studio recording as the Beatles in 1962 that Pete Best would be dismissed and Ringo Starr would take his place, finalizing the lineup.Source
