What's the name of the robot on Lost in Space?

If you add "Will Robinson" to "Danger!" anytime you hear or say that word, you can thank Lost in Space, the sci-fi TV series that ran from 1965-68 (and occasionally gets a reboot, but let's put that out of your mind for this one).
Based on essentially taking the plot of The Swiss Family Robison and putting it in space (brilliant), the show ran for three seasons and 83 episodes. Set in the far, far, extremely distant future year of 1997, the Robinsons are a pioneering family gearing up to move to a new space colony — but spoiler alert, things go haywire and they end up getting lost. Hence the title.
Along for the ride is a trusty bucket of bolts named... what?

Correct Answer: The Robot
The answer is: The Robot. Full name Robot Model B-9, but "the Robot" will work just fine. While not a very creative nickname, it is to the point, and when you're navigating the strange and dangerous edges of space, you'll want this guy to be by your side.A prop costume was operated by Bob May, and the voice was almost always dubbed by Dick Tufeld.Source
