Celebrity birthday highlights for June 27, 2025:

Fashion designer Vera Wang (1949) skated competitively before she ever sketched a dress, and after 16 years at Vogue and a stint at Ralph Lauren she opened her own bridal salon in 1990 and remade the modern wedding gown. She's dressed Olympic figure skaters from Nancy Kerrigan onward, branched into fragrance and eyewear, and is rolling out a ready-to-wear line this fall.

Actress Julia Duffy (1951) racked up seven straight Emmy nominations as the snooty, spoiled Stephanie Vanderkellen on "Newhart." She brought the same comic snobbery to "Designing Women," then turned up decades later on the "Night Court" revival and as the scheming Mary Davidsoul on "Palm Royale."

Director J.J. Abrams (1966) dreamed up "Alias" and co-created "Lost." He's the guy who rebooted "Star Trek" for the big screen and relaunched "Star Wars" with "The Force Awakens," and he just swung back to TV with "Duster."

Actor Tobey Maguire (1975) broke through in "The Ice Storm" and "Pleasantville," then swung into theaters as the original big-screen Spider-Man. He produced and starred in "Seabiscuit," picked up a Golden Globe nomination for "Brothers," and later headlined "The Great Gatsby" before producing and appearing in "Babylon."

Reality star Khloé Kardashian (1984) became a household name on "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" and its endless spin-offs. She co-founded Good American, which pulled off one of the biggest denim launches ever, and now stars on and executive-produces Hulu's "The Kardashians."
