Correct Answer: Appetite for Destruction
(Source)Geffen Records almost cut its losses when Guns N' Roses' debut album, "Appetite for Destruction" was released in 1987 and failed to make any kind of splash. Five months after being released, it had only sold 200,000 copies. The band's reputation didn't help, and MTV only agreed to airing the "Welcome to the Jungle" music video in the early hours, hoping it would be missed. But suddenly everyone wanted to hear what these maniacs from Los Angeles were actually capable of. By August 1988, more than a year after its release, the album finally hit number one and stayed on the Billboard charts for nearly three years. Now, with 30 million copies sold worldwide, it's considered one of the best-selling albums of all time.
