It's hard to imagine a much more popular comedic trio in the '80s than heavyweights Chevy Chase, Steve Martin, and Martin Short. Arguably in their respective comedic heydays, putting them in a movie together was a no-brainer.
On December 12, 1986, audiences finally got to see the result when Three Amigos was released nationwide. Following the story of three silent film stars in the early 1900s who get caught up in an accidental adventure, it has since gone on to become a cult classic.
But not before some critics of the day had their way with it. Roger Ebert gave it one star out of four and the movie holds just a 45% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, to which I say: We even watching the same movie?
This movie taught me the meaning of the word "infamous" and even had a little bit of a fantasy element in there with the singing bush and invisible swordsman. Not sure what ya'll want out of a movie like this, but it sure as hell gets my mark of approval.
The three actors get caught up in helping a small village in Mexico defend against the nasty leader of a group of banditos. What is that leader's name?

The answer is: El Guapo. El Guapo and his gang terrorize the village of Santa Poco, until the Three Amigos (eventually) help the town rise and stand against him — but not until he shoots Lucky in the foot.Source
